Color Theory Face: Rembrant lighting Self-portrait with a color theme.
In the image to the left you will find four examples of a color scheme self-portrait. The left side corresponds with the right side only desaturated of color. You see how the color hues have value with different colors looking very similar in shade or tint.
For your color theory self portrait you start with a high contrast (extremely lit) Black and white portrait sent through a cut out filter which separates it into six values of Black, White, and Grey's. Using an extra fine sharpie the scholar will trace the lines in-between values and copy the lines onto the final sheet of paper (80 or 90 Ib.) using a lightbox or animation style drawing techniques.

The last step is to color each value with the corresponding color. The image shows the final color face and a desaturated version beside it. The self assessment rubric follows it.
